Community and Lifestyle:

  • Location: Haines, Alaska, unmatched outdoor recreation year‑round: hiking, kayaking, fishing, skiing, and wildlife viewing. With a strong sense of community with a small-town feel and a safe, supportive, family friendly environment with a cool, coastal-influenced climate with more seasonal swings than most Southeast Alaska communities.
  • Affordability: Alaska has no state income tax — residents keep more of their paycheck compared to most other states.
  • Education: Offering a small, high-quality school system with excellent teacher access, strong academics, and a close-knit community that’s ideal for raising a family.
  • Transportation: Haines offers a unique transportation advantage compared to many Southeast Alaska communities, with access by air, ferry, and road via the Haines Highway connecting through Canada to the Alaska and Lower 48 road systems. This added connectivity makes travel and relocation more flexible while still maintaining the remote, small-community lifestyle.
  • Culture: Affluent cultural amenities and numerous community events featuring arts, music, festivals, and a rich Indigenous heritage.
