Job description
Oversee the purchase of feed product raw materials, enzymes and concentrates.
- Develop plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies.
- Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed. Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage.
- Review orders to determine product types and quantities required to meet demand. • Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for purchases
- Identify, research and evaluate prospective vendors/suppliers.
- Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options
- Negotiate the best deal for pricing and supply contracts and ensure that the products and supplies are high quality.
- Coordinate the transportation of purchased raw materials.
- Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important data
- Maintain and update a list of suppliers and their qualifications, delivery times, and potential future development.
- Create and maintain good relationships with vendors/suppliers
• Attend trade shows and exhibitions to stay up-to-date with industry trends.
- Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses.
Degree/HND in Accounting, Business Management, Logistics, supply chain management, or relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the procurement/related roles in animal feed industry is a must.
- Relevant Certifications are added advantages
- Understanding of supply chain procedures
