Job description
- Based on detailed application-product expertise and technical excellence the Power semiconductor R&D engineer provides in-depth technical development and support for SiC chips, discretes and power modules in non-auto applications, incl. solid state transformers (SST), AI data center (AIDC), energy storage system, and eVTOL, etc.
- Develop technical understanding of our SiC products fit for above mentioned applications and point out our existing SiC devices and modules technical advantages and gaps
- Interpret SST and AIDC specific technical requirements, and decide SiC products design modification areas, keep intensive communication with global R&D team
- Lead China local development and technical modification to existing SiC devices and modules to match industrial application, SST and AIDC demand. If needed, work together with global team to develop new SiC products for Chinese industrial market
- Make technical analysis of future industrial applications SST and AIDC demand, and raise directions to design changes and plan local technical development roadmap for future SiC
- Test and benchmarking evaluation of industrial SiC devices and modules in the market and summarize advantages and shortcomings
- Support PRM and application engineer design-in and design-win activities at customers
- As technical responsible person to lead technical cooperation with partners to ensure new SiC products joint-development deliverables
- University degree (master/doctor) in physics, semiconductor technology, microsystems technology or a comparable course
- Personality and way of working: communicative, able to work in a team, able to coordinate and proactively drive topics
- Experience of power semiconductor chips, discretes and modules design and testing.
- Knowhow of SST, AIDC, ESS, eVTOL application and their technical demands to SiC products
- Deep understanding how to adjust SiC specification and designs to match industrial application technical demand
- Qualification: knowledge of the physics of semiconductor components and their characterization; knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes
- Enthusiasm: high willingness to work independently and across departments in a complex environment
- Languages: Business fluent Chinese and English skills, both written and spoken
