Job description
Overview VTG is seeking a Logistics & Material Specialist located in Virginia Beach, VA. What will you do? Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices; document and coordinate resolution of discrepancies as needed Process all inventory transactions (receipts, issues, adjustments) within the material inventory system with a high degree of accuracy Store and organize materials based on size, type, handling requirements, and environmental considerations to ensure accessibility and preservation Pick, stage, kit, and issue materials to support production and operational requirements Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation of discrepancies Label and identify materials using standardized tagging and coding methods to ensure traceability Coordinate and track the movement and distribution of materials across warehouse locations and operational areas Operate material handling equipment safely and perform minor adjustments or maintenance as required Evaluate and recommend improvements to storage methods, layout, and material flow to enhance efficiency Transport materials between warehouse and production areas in support of operational needs Maintain inventory levels and support replenishment activities to prevent shortages or excess Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and organizational policies, maintaining a clean and organized work environment Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform additional logistics-related duties as assigned Do you have what it takes? High School Diploma or equivalency Two (2) - Five (5) year of experience of related work experience, preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. . Knowledge and enforcing compliance with requirements for handling hazardous material commonly used in installations (e.g., paint, cleaning solvents, lithium batteries, other). Ability to obtain a secret clearance.
