Billing Operations Representative I Location: REMOTE, United States Hourly Compensation: $18 - $20 DOE Full-Time Work Schedule by Time Zone: 6:00 am-2:30 pm Pacific 7:00 am-3:30 pm Mountain 8:00 am-4:30 pm Central 9:00 am-5:30 pm Eastern The Revenue Cycle Billing Representative- Processes Discharge transports for traditional Medicare. Responsible for reviewing and submitting medically necessary claims to Medicare for payment/denial along with accurate documentation. Responsibilities • Complete ambulance coding of non-emergency claims. • Communicate effectively and professionally with all customers. • Recommend efficiencies to overall departmental processes. • Complete required reports and assist with special projects as assigned. • Adhere to all company policies and procedures. • Adhere to and comply with information systems security • Follow Information Systems security policies and procedures. • Attend Information Systems security training, when offered. • Report on information systems security problems. • Shift daily priorities with flexibility. • Meet deadlines, working within tight time constraints. • Handle large volumes of work. • Meet or exceed established standards for productivity and quality. Qualifications Education & Industry Experience Required: • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) • 3+ years of medical billing experience with government payor • Familiarity with government payor and HIPAA requirements • Knowledge of HCPCS and strong computer skills • Strong alpha-numeric data entry skills: 35+ WPM with 90%+ accuracy • Organized, detail-oriented, and excellent follow-through • Effective oral and written communication skills • Able to manage high-volume work with speed and accuracy • Flexibility, quick learner, and goal-driven • Team-oriented, cooperative, and committed • Proactive in learning, improving skills, and adapting to shifting priorities Preferred: • Medical billing, government payor requirements, and medical billing software experience • Highly desirable: Ambulance coding and appeals • Highly desirable: Remote work experience Why Choose AMR?
