Job description

CEDA is looking to hire a Tool Crib Attendant for our Fort McMurray, AB location. CEDA will be working with one of their clients to reassemble their entire dredge, as well as assemble a marina and an electrical barge on site.

The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for managing the distribution, tracking, maintenance, and organization of tools and equipment for a busy construction or industrial job site. This role ensures that crews have the right tools available when needed, while maintaining accurate inventory control and supporting safe, efficient operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Issue and receive tools, equipment, and consumables to field personnel
  • Maintain accurate records of tool check-in/check-out activity
  • Track tool usage, locations, and availability to support daily operations
  • Monitor overdue or missing tools and follow up as needed
  • Maintain organized tool crib with clear labeling and storage systems
  • Assist with forecasting tool and supply needs based on project demands
  • Coordinate repairs, servicing, and replacement of defective tools
  • Support mobilization and demobilization of tools across different project phases
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
  • Report hazards, damaged equipment, or unsafe conditions promptly
  • Work closely with supervisors, foremen, and procurement teams
  • Communicate tool availability and shortages proactively

Role Specifications

  • 5+ years of dredging experience in industrial services/maintenance is required
  • Minimum 2 years Supervisory experience
  • Class 5 license is required
  • Class 1 or 3 license would be an asset
