Job description

Workday Certified (Preferred) – Core HCM, Compensation, Absence & Time Tracking. 

Job Summary 

We are seeking an experienced (5 to 10 Years) Workday Functional Consultant with deep expertise in Core HR, Compensation, Absence Management, Time Tracking, Payroll & Integrations. The ideal candidate will possess strong functional configuration knowledge combined with technical capabilities in integrations, reporting, and data migration. 

This role requires leading implementations, enhancements, and support initiatives while collaborating with HR, Payroll, IT, and business stakeholders. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Workday System Configuration, Enhancements & AMS Support 

  • Configure and maintain Workday modules such as Core HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Benefit, Absence and Time Tracking & Integrations. 

  • Configure compensation plans (Merit, Bonus, Stock, Allowances) & Setup eligibility rules & compensation grades. 

  • Configure compensation review cycles & support annual compensation planning.  

  • Configure benefit plans (Health, Insurance, Retirement, etc.) & Setup benefit eligibility & enrolment rules. 

  • Configure benefit event rules (Life Events, Open Enrolment) & Manage rates, coverage types, and benefit providers. 

  • Configure absence plans & leave types, setup accrual calculations & carryover rules. 

  • Define work schedules & holiday calendars & configure eligibility & validation rules. 

  • Configure time entry templates & Setup time calculation rules. Configure work schedules & shifts & support time-based integrations with Payroll. 

  • Configure and optimize Business Processes, Setup condition rules & validation rules. 

  • Configure security roles & domain security policies & troubleshoot workflow issues. 

  • Workday Release Management and Experience in Handling workday team. 

 

Technical & Integration Responsibilities 

  • Design and develop integration using - EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder), Core Connectors, Workday Studio & Cloud Connect. 

  • Inbound & outbound integrations & third-party vendor integrations (Benefits, Payroll, Time systems) 

  • Create calculated fields (Advanced level) & build Advanced, Matrix, and Composite Reports. 

  • Support data migration & tenant management. 

 

Business Analysis & Stakeholder Collaboration 

  • Partner with HR and business stakeholders to define requirements and create functional specifications. 

  • Cross Functional collaboration with IT and Finance & Leadership teams to meet the expectations. Provide functional guidance and best practices for Workday usage. 

  • Act as SME for HCM modules & translate business requirements into functional documents & workday solutions. 

  • Configure Test strategies and support business during system and UAT testing. 

Testing, Documentation & Training 

  • Create test scripts and support UAT for Workday enhancements. 

  • Maintain system documentation, process flows, and configuration guides. 

  • Provide training and user support for HR and business teams. 

Experience Requirements 

  • 5+ years of experience working with Workday HCM modules (Core HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Absence and Time Tracking). 

  • Experience in end-to-end implementation, Phase -X projects, AMS functional support roles. 

  • Experience in HRIS, system analysis, or data migration support roles.
