Summary:
The Technical Business Analyst will partner with Finance, Accounting, Trade Processing, Data, and Technology teams to define requirements, analyze business workflows, and deliver data-driven reporting and analytics solutions. This role is ideal for a business analyst who enjoys working at the intersection of financial services operations, data analysis, and technology delivery.
The position offers the opportunity to translate complex business needs into clear functional and technical specifications, improve reporting and operational visibility, and support high-impact analytics initiatives using tools such as SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, JIRA, Confluence, and AI-enabled analysis tools.
Responsibilities:
- Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements across Finance, Accounting, and Trade Processing teams.
- Translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications for data, reporting, dashboard, and analytics solutions.
- Partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to clarify workflows, data sources, reporting needs, and process improvement opportunities.
- Perform data analysis using SQL, Excel, and AI-enabled tools to identify trends, gaps, exceptions, and business insights.
- Design, build, and support dashboards and visualizations using Tableau and Power BI for executive, operational, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Create and maintain high-quality documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and reporting definitions.
- Use JIRA and Confluence to manage requirements, track delivery progress, and support project transparency.
- Support testing, validation, and user acceptance activities to ensure delivered solutions meet business needs.
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting, improve data quality, and enhance business decision-making.
Qualifications:
- 5–9 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role.
- Experience working in financial services, investment operations, banking, capital markets, asset management, insurance, or related environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of Finance, Accounting, and/or Trade Processing workflows, systems, and data.
- Hands-on experience with data analysis using SQL, Excel, and AI-enabled productivity or analytics tools.
- Experience building dashboards, reports, or visualizations using Tableau and/or Power BI.
- Strong documentation skills, including business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience using JIRA and Confluence in Agile or technology delivery environments.
- Ability to communicate clearly with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex business problems into structured requirements and actionable insights.
Work Model:
This role follows a hybrid schedule with an alternating cadence: one week onsite, followed by one week remote. Candidates must be able to work onsite in either the Dallas, TX or Raleigh, NC office during onsite weeks.
Preferred Experience:
- Financial services industry experience.
- Exposure to trade processing, investment operations, finance operations, accounting workflows, or reporting platforms.
- Experience supporting data, reporting, analytics, or business intelligence initiatives.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams across business, operations, data, and technology.

The compensation range for this position represents our good faith estimate of the range we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, education, work location, and internal equity.
In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commissions, or other incentive programs, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, etc.
