As a Data Engineer - Data Operations, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the stability, accuracy, and performance of our financial and insurance data platforms. Based in Sri Lanka, this role offers you the opportunity to collaborate with global teams, maintain a healthy data ecosystem, and contribute to operational excellence. How you'll make an impact In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our data operations, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and security of our data platforms. You’ll monitor and validate data pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise performance. Your work will directly support our mission to deliver tailored insurance solutions and effective risk management strategies. You’ll also: Perform data validation, cleansing, and transformation to maintain data quality. Respond to service requests and incidents, diagnosing and resolving issues in data pipelines and systems. Enforce data access controls and support audit activities to ensure compliance. Monitor and optimise data ingestion jobs and query performance. Document data processes and contribute to service reports, including SLA metrics. Collaborate with global teams to support data modernisation and knowledge sharing. About you Here’s what you’ll bring to the role: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience. 2-5+ years of experience in data-centric support operations, including ETL processes, data warehouses, and data lakes. Proficiency in SQL for querying and debugging, with knowledge of data modelling concepts. Familiarity with ITSM/ITIL environments and foundational knowledge of financial or insurance data domains. Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to data integrity. Awareness of data governance and security principles. Technology Stack: Cloud Platforms: Azure Data Stack (Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, DevOps) Data Tools: Snowflake, DBT, Fivetran Databases: Microsoft SQL Server (including Master Data Services) Visualisation Tools: Power BI Other Tools: Microsoft 365 applications, ServiceNow #LI-Hybrid In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our data operations, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and security of our data platforms.
