Job description
CEDA is looking to hire Labourer for a project in our Fort McMurray, AB location. CEDA will be working with one of their clients to reassemble their entire dredge, as well as assemble a marina and an electrical barge on site.
The Labourer supports daily field operations by performing a variety of hands-on tasks and operating equipment safely and efficiently. They assist with site preparation, equipment maintenance, and process operations while upholding safety and housekeeping standards. This is a site-based position reporting to the Foreman.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist dredging crew with day-to-day operational tasks on land and marine-based work sites
- Support mobilization and demobilization of dredging equipment and infrastructure
- Assist the millwrights with building the dredge
- Participate in daily toolbox talks, weekly safety meetings, safety tours, and CEDA’s ICE card program
- Move, load, and unload materials such as pipe, hoses, fittings, geotextile, and tools
- Handle sand, slurry, tailings, and other dredged materials as directed
- Support trenching, backfilling, and grading activities around dredge lines
- Follow all site safety rules, PPE requirements, and safe work procedures
- Assist maintenance crews with parts handling and job setup
Role Specifications
- Minimum 2 years of labour or field experience (industrial or construction environment preferred)
- Experience supporting millwrights and working with tools and equipment preferred
- Proven rigging experience, including lifting, moving, and securing loads using cranes, hoists, and slings (rigging certification preferred)
- Valid CSO certification or equivalent (CSTS-09 and OSSA Regional/BSO)
- Comfortable working on or near open water
