DevOps Engineer (REF5487V)

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to enable efficient and effective collaboration across development, operations, and quality assurance teams. In this role, you will design, build, and operate modern, scalable, and secure DevOps platforms and processes, with a strong focus on AWS, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and GitOps practices.

You will play a key role across the full development lifecycle—from architectural design to deployment and operations—helping teams deliver reliable, high-quality software at scale.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Manage and operate Kubernetes environments (primarily AWS EKS), including maintenance, monitoring, upgrades, and performance optimization.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to ensure consistent and automated deployments.
• Create, maintain, and optimize Helm charts and templates, and manage deployments via ArgoCD following GitOps principles.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, including reusable templates shared across projects.
• Configure and maintain AWS services such as Load Balancers and AWS Certificate Manager.
• Lead and coordinate DevOps aspects throughout the development lifecycle in close collaboration with development, QA, and operations teams.
• Provide technical support for complex projects during development, testing, and product release planning and execution.
• Design, build, and continuously improve development and deployment infrastructure, including cross-project tooling and shared environments.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot incidents, and implement improvements to ensure high availability, resilience, and efficiency.
• Contribute to deployment strategies and disaster recovery concepts.
• Ensure infrastructure is secure, compliant, and aligned with architectural and security standards.
• Drive innovation by evaluating and implementing new DevOps tools, technologies, and best practices.
• Document solutions, architectures, and processes clearly to support maintainability and knowledge sharing.
• Support and contribute to strategically aligned, company-wide initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with AWS cloud infrastructure
• Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes (EKS) in production
• Proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, ideally GitLab CI
• Familiarity with Helm and Git-based deployment workflows
• Solid understanding of DevOps practices and the software delivery lifecycle
• Very good skills in English (writing and speaking)

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Kubernetes RBAC, service accounts, and resource-based access control
• Strong understanding of AWS IAM roles and policies, especially Kubernetes integrations (e.g., IRSA)
• Familiarity with GitOps tools and practices, particularly ArgoCD
• Knowledge of networking concepts in cloud and containerized environments
• Experience integrating services across cloud-native architectures
• German skills (writing and speaking)
