Job description
Testing & Commissioning Engineer role will support Freight Facilities as part of a transformative rail infrastructure project. The scope includes formation preparation, track installation, freight yard development, and systems integration, ensuring seamless operations and world class standards. Candidates must have prior experience working on similar rail, freight facilities, or major infrastructure projects.
Plan, coordinate, and supervise testing and commissioning activities for civil and infrastructure projects.
Ensure all testing and commissioning works are carried out in accordance with project specifications, approved procedures, and authority requirements.
Prepare and review testing and commissioning plans, procedures, checklists, and method statements.
Coordinate with contractors, consultants, subcontractors, and authorities during testing and commissioning activities.
Monitor testing activities for utilities networks including water supply, sewerage, stormwater, irrigation, and associated civil infrastructure.
Witness and verify hydrostatic testing, pressure testing, leakage testing, gravity line testing, compaction testing, and other required tests.
Ensure all materials, equipment, and installations are tested and commissioned as per approved standards and manufacturer recommendations.
Review shop drawings, IFC drawings, specifications, and technical submittals before commencement of testing activities.
Verify readiness of systems and completion of pre-commissioning requirements before final commissioning.
Coordinate interface activities between civil, mechanical, electrical, and utility systems during commissioning stages.
Ensure testing equipment and instruments are calibrated and valid prior to testing activities.
Prepare and maintain testing records, commissioning reports, inspection reports, and handover documentation.
Identify defects, non-conformities, and incomplete works during testing and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Raise NCRs and site observations for non-compliant works where required.
Monitor contractor performance and ensure testing activities are completed within project schedules.
Coordinate with utility authorities for inspections, approvals, and final connections.
Attend testing, commissioning, and technical coordination meetings with project stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements during all testing activities.
Support project handover processes by ensuring all testing and commissioning documentation is complete and approved.
Verify as-built drawings and O&M manuals before project closeout.
Ensure compliance with requirements of authorities.
Assist the Resident Engineer and Project Management team in resolving technical and commissioning-related issues.
Monitor final snagging and ensure closure of all testing and commissioning comments before project handover.
Minimum Requirements:
- The candidate would need to have prior experience in similar projects.
- Middle East experience would be advantageous
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant site supervision experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Engineering Field + experience on Railway projects.
