Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Industrial Engineering Manager 1 to lead the Production Operations Analytics & Estimating Organization in Roy, Utah, supporting Strategic Deterrence Division programs with primary emphasis on Sentinel. This organization combines proposal estimating, production analytics, and data-driven operations insight to improve proposal quality, production planning, affordability, and execution.

What you'll get to do
Lead a team of industrial engineers, analysts, and estimators responsible for basis of estimate development, proposal planning, labor and material estimating, staffing models, automated dashboards, and operations metrics.
Set the vision, priorities, and operating rhythm for the organization, aligning near-term proposal support with long-term development of reusable estimating tools, historical databases, analytics infrastructure, documentation, and standard work.
Guide development of data pipelines and recurring dashboards for staffing, charging, repair and rework, training, and other production metrics that inform proposal assumptions and execution decisions.
Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Program Management, Business Management, Pricing and Estimating, Quality, Global Supply Chain, and Digital and information technology teams to deliver credible, executable, and compliant proposal inputs.
Use historical actuals, touch labor data, repair and rework trends, staffing and charging data, and schedule assumptions to improve bottom-up, parametric, analogous, and actuals-based estimates and support management reviews, fact finding, and negotiations.
Coach and develop the team, manage performance, hiring, skill growth, workload balancing, and cross-training across analytics and estimating disciplines.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, Operations Research, Data Analytics, Systems Engineering, Business, or related technical field with 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years with a master degree.
Experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing operations, production planning, analytics, proposal estimating, or related functions in aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing.
Experience developing basis of estimate packages, staffing plans, capacity models, schedules, dashboards, or operational metrics.
Must have the ability to obtain U.S. Government DoD Interim Secret security clearance prior to start, and the ability to obtain and maintain a final Secret security clearance post-start.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Minimum 4 years of leadership experience leading teams, projects, or cross-functional work.
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, written communication, and executive presentation.
Experience leading proposal estimating or production analytics teams supporting Strategic Deterrence Division, Sentinel, or other major defense programs.
Experience with cost estimating relationships, improvement curves, risk assessment, confidence factor development, discrete statement of work estimating, or logic and error check analysis.
Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Structured Query Language, Python, Systems, Applications, and Products, Cobra, Business Operations Support System, Workday, or manufacturing execution systems.
Knowledge of manufacturing flow, shop floor execution, material planning, and how production interfaces with quality and supply chain; ability to read blueprints or schematics.
Experience building data pipelines, databases, documentation, or automated reporting solutions.
