JOB CONTEXT

Damen Song Cam Shipyard is  a production facility delivering various Damen ship types. Basic designs and main components are delivered to DSCS by Damen Shipyards Gorinchem.

DSCS will provide the detailed engineering, and information for the supply chain and production.

The Quality Control department is responsible for the monitoring and control of quality during the production process to ensure the end-product meets the Damen Quality Standards and is in line with the applicable international standards.

An important part of the Quality Control process is the identification and analysis of Non Conformities (NC) of product and processes during production and work towards preventive actions to optimize our products and processes.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB

The Quality Engineer within the QC Department is responsible for the coordination of handling Non-Conformities (NC) within DSCS and in communication with external stakeholders.

To coordinate the input and follow-up of root-cause-analysis in a multi-disciplinary team in close cooperation with Quality Engineering of Head Office. Communicate with the head-office and suppliers to define preventative actions and lead Internal communication within DSCS to close the feedback loop back to our production organization.

Work with the relevant stakeholders to review products and processes in early stage to feed-back lessons learnt into process/product set-up.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACTIVITIES

Root-Cause Analysis

Facilitate and coordinate the root-cause-analysis of complex technical issues with a multi-disciplinary and international team, in structured and controlled methodology.

Functional

Implementing and managing the framework for the identification, categorization, analysis and follow-up of Non-Conformities in our production process.

Improvement

Work towards clear preventative actions and product/process improvements that will facilitate the continuous improvement of our production process.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

University Major in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

Good command of English language and computer skill.

Experience in shipbuilding is an advantage
