Our firm is currently hiring a Document Control Specialist based in Alhambra, CA. The Document Control Specialist will operate in a team environment to support the permitting process and document controls within a large public agency. This is an outstanding opportunity to bring your specialized Document Control expertise to an industry leading team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist County personnel/plan checkers/permit technicians in processing and facilitating public inquiries and plan check submissions, and other general correspondence.
Perform screening of permit applications for completeness, Title 24, architectural/structural requirements, etc.
Assist in tracking submission backlogs and provide current status of submitted plans/submissions.
Establish and maintain a project document filing system in accordance with established County procedures.
Prepare reports in accordance with established County procedures and forms.
Enter and track the following documents: plan submittals, permit applications, internal performance of review times and plans status, payment status.
Document Controller maintains all logs.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
Experience with scanning and converting documents to various specified file formats.
Knowledge of proper security and preservation of controlled data, documents & records.
Utilize effective written and oral communication skills.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in business, architecture, engineering, or construction management preferred.
Minimum five (5) years of document control experience in the construction field.
Experience in reading construction plans is preferred.
Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office software.
Must be proficient in Sharepoint and Sharefile.
Must be detail oriented with effective organization and coordination skills.
Must have ability to interface and communicate effectively with others and have a positive attitude.
Prior experience with public agencies is preferred.
Experience in preparing and reviewing written correspondences for formatting, punctuation, grammar, etc.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to handle changing and increasing workload.
Experience with OneDrive and/or other digital platforms is a plus.
Strong in Excel use and spreadsheets is a must.
Knowledge/use of other Project Control Software is preferred.

The salary range for this full-time role is $57,400.00-$72,733.34 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
