Currently, around 4,000 employees are working at CARIAD on the digital transformation of the car. CARIAD is working intensively on the software and technology platform for Premium Platform Electric (PPE). The first vehicles based on PPE will be the electric Porsche Macan and Audi Q6 e-tron. At the core of CARIAD is the development of the unified and scalable software and technology platform E³ 2.0 for all Group brands. E³ stands for ‘end to end electronics architecture’. Job Description: Automotive Software Engineer – Integration Testing (Model-Based Design)

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Software Engineer to join our team, specializing in integration testing of Model-Based Design (MBD) software components. This role involves performing code integration of model-generated code, managing dependencies, stub codes, headers, and libraries, and debugging compilation and integration errors. The engineer will also be responsible for creating integration test specifications and developing Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) tests using TPT and GTest.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform code integration for model-generated software components.
- Add and manage dependencies, stub codes, headers, and required libraries for successful integration.
- Debug and resolve compilation failure errors and integration failure issues.
- Create integration test specifications based on system and software requirements.
- Develop and execute Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) integration tests using TPT and Google Test (GTest).
- Collaborate with software developers and system engineers to understand integration points and interfaces.
- Document integration test cases, results, and coverage metrics.
- Ensure compliance with automotive standards such as ASPICE, ISO 26262, and MISRA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in Model-Based Design (MBD) using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Hands-on experience with TPT and GTest for integration testing.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ and embedded software development.
- Experience with code integration including handling dependencies, stub codes, headers, and libraries.
- Ability to debug compilation and integration errors effectively.
- Understanding of SIL testing methodologies and tools.
- Excellent analytical, debugging, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety standards.
- Familiarity with AUTOSAR architecture and tools.
- Experience with requirements management and traceability tools like DOORS or Polarion.
