Currently, around 4,000 employees are working at CARIAD on the digital transformation of the car. CARIAD is working intensively on the software and technology platform for Premium Platform Electric (PPE). The first vehicles based on PPE will be the electric Porsche Macan and Audi Q6 e-tron. At the core of CARIAD is the development of the unified and scalable software and technology platform E³ 2.0 for all Group brands. E³ stands for ‘end to end electronics architecture’. The new software and technology platform is built from scratch and will be used first at the end of 2024 in Artemis, the lighthouse project of Audi. As of 2026, E³ 2.0 is due to be scaled by the Volkswagen brand with Trinity in the volume segment.

CARIAD COE (Centre of Excellence) is setup in Bangalore, India working exclusively with CARIAD and associated VW groups with the focus on development of ‘VW.OS”. The areas of work involve development of platform components such as firmware, boot loaders, AUTOSAR, Linux/QNX BSP, Service oriented architecture-based middleware components.

Job Description:ABOUT THE PROJECT We are building a Performance Dashboard that enables visualization, analysis, and monitoring of ML model test runs and performance metrics (like new relic, Datadog, etc.). The platform integrates with multiple enterprise data sources to provide interactive dashboards, drill-down analytics, and secure multi-tenant access. The backend layer is responsible for high-performance REST APIs, data orchestration with Databricks, role-based access control, multi-tenant isolation, and low-latency responses for rich SPA dashboards.

JOB SUMMARY We are looking for a Senior Python Developer with strong expertise in backend development and FastAPI to design and build scalable & performant APIs for the analytics platform. You will work closely with ML engineers, data engineers, and frontend developers to deliver robust backend services that support high-performance dashboarding and analytics workflows.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using FastAPI. Implement API versioning, validation, and OpenAPI/Swagger documentation. Integrate with PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Azure Databricks SQL Warehouse and optimize query orchestration. Connection pooling, ORM, Writing complex SQL queries, stored procedure and other construct Implement caching mechanisms (Redis or similar) to improve performance. Ensure low-latency API responses for dashboard use cases. Implement OAuth2 / JWT-based authentication and RBAC. Design multi-tenant data isolation strategies. Integrate structured logging, monitoring, and tracing. Collaborate with ML engineers and frontend teams to optimize data contracts.

REQUIRED SKILLS Strong expertise in Python (4+ years). Hands-on experience with FastAPI. Deep understanding of REST API design principles. Experience with asynchronous programming (async/await). Strong SQL knowledge and query optimization. Experience with Redis or similar caching systems. Docker and containerized deployment experience. Unit testing using Pytest and API integration testing. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience working on ML/AI platforms. Exposure to Azure ecosystem and Databricks. Understanding of Delta Lake or analytical query engines. Experience designing multi-tenant backend systems. Familiarity with OpenTelemetry or observability tools.
