Graduate Assistant - Honors ProgramJob Description:
The Graduate Assistant provides clerical support for the Honors program. The GA reports to the Director of the Honors Program. The GA will also be called upon to perform a wide variety of office tasks as needed.The Graduate Assistant offers administrative support to the Honors Program. The GA reports directly to the Director of the Honors Program and may be required to perform various office tasks as needed.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Honors Director and administrative assistant in multiple aspects of the administration program, clearly not including any form of faculty teaching oversight, evaluation, or grading. This will include coordinating Honors efforts with Admissions, Communications, Development Offices and Student Affairs.
- Work closely with Honors Director and Aspire for all data collection for retention, persistence, probations, and removals of Honors students.
- Provide academic advice and mentorship to Honors students.
- Work with RA’s in the Honors ILLC to provide cocurricular content and events.
- Assist with the creation and editing of all Honors newsletters, fliers, advising sheets, SPARC materials, Honors banquet materials, and other promotional materials (including brochures) and learn and adapt all to our Brand Standards.
- Assist with the set up and breakdown of all Honors events, including Family Fest, Orientation, Senior Honors Banquet, and HILLC programs.
- Handle all social media for Honors in consultation with the Office of Communications, such as Twitter and Facebook to distribute news and advising information.
- Attend (and, if able) photograph all Honors events and create a catalog of materials pertaining to them.
- Run errands to collect Honors plaques, medals, supplies.
- Provide other administrative assistance not mentioned above as needed.
Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills:
- Must be accepted into a graduate program at Mount St. Mary’s University.
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Salary/Hours/Benefits
- A stipend of $6000 per academic year.
- 20 hours per week for 9 months (August – May)
- Tuition Remission Benefits (2 courses in the fall and 2 courses in the spring).
