The role of an academic is both challenging and deeply rewarding. Beyond possessing the necessary knowledge and skillsets, the ideal candidate should demonstrate a genuine passion for education, especially in working with youths—guiding their development and shaping their character.
As a lecturer, you will have the opportunity to design and deliver curricula, develop new courses, and participate in consultancy and applied research projects. You will also be actively involved in school- and institution-level strategic initiatives and administrative functions that support teaching and learning.
We are seeking a resourceful, adaptable, and proactive team player with strong communication skills, who is committed to both academic excellence and student success.
Teaching Areas:
Candidates should be competent to teach in one or more of the following areas:
• Robotics and Automation
• Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
• 2D/3D Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD)
• C/C++ or Python Programming
[What you will be working on]
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and conduct engaging lessons, tutorials, and lab sessions for full-time students, adult learners, and industry personnel.
- Stay abreast of advancements in the manufacturing and automation sectors to ensure curriculum relevance and propose continuous improvements.
- Mentor and provide pastoral care to students, supporting their academic and personal growth.
- Actively engage with industry partners to co-develop learning opportunities such as internships, student-industry projects, and learning journeys.
- Contribute to course administration and support general school operations and institutional initiatives.
Requirements:-
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in mechatronics, manufacturing, automation, Industry 4.0 technologies, or robotics is required, with a minimum of 2 years preferred. Fresh graduates with relevant training or strong interest are also welcome to apply.
- Confident in industry collaboration and building partnerships.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, independent, and a collaborative team player.
- Passionate about teaching and mentoring both young adults and adult learners.
[What we are looking for]
Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
