Responsibilities Position Summary: Ensure the Distribution Centre (DC) complies with and maintains all Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), Quality Management System (QMS/QA), Sustainability, Social Workplace Accountability (SWA) and other tasks as required by legislation and internal policies/procedures. Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: Workplace Health and Safety: Implement the WHS system and assist with the training and implementation of any changes. Investigate incidents and near misses in a prompt and thorough manner, ensuring any appropriate corrective actions are taken. Ensure incident(s) and investigation documentation is completed accurately and sent to all relevant stakeholders. Coordinate workers’ compensation claims and manages employee injury management and rehabilitation. Maintain compliance with provincial and company requirements, ensuring injured workers are complying with suitable duties as determined by the Nominated Treating Doctor (NTD) and are implemented by supervisors. Partner with Human Resources, to assess any non-work related injuries and coordinate any return to work/suitable duty plans. Lead and Co-Chair the Joint Health and Safety Committee for their location. Assess, conduct and deliver WHS related training as required to relevant staff. Quality Management Systems: Plan and coordinate the DC internal audit program, including managing external providers conducting on-site audits, recording and evaluating findings to support recommendations and implement appropriate corrective actions. Lead IFS, DQMP and ISO certifications (14000, 45001) for respective site Participate in Management Review/Ops Meetings, escalating QA issues with the team as appropriate. Assist the DC with verification and compliance activities (including stock Recoveries) to ensure activities are documented and compliance is met. Participate in the management of customer complaints and non-conformance issues to ensure timely follow-up, completion within service delivery standards and validation of corrective action effectiveness. Ensure document control and record keeping, including any DC specific procedures are maintained. Advocate for a culture of quality and continuous improvement while ensuring the framework(s) established under organizational plans are met. Pro-actively document quality, food safety and environmental issues and performance measures for management review. Other Tasks: Mitigate and manage environmental risk across the DC through the maintenance of a risk register. Manage compliance with DC waste and recycling processes, conducting staff training on these practices as necessary. Assist with maintaining the DC training records and ensure compliance with training program across employee groups. Identify training needs and organize training interventions to lead best practice education and training programs to staff and stakeholders on quality, food safety and environmental compliance. Review and Process restaurant claims Other projects or duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of technical experience or High School Diploma and 7+ years of related experience Health and Safety program experience, Quality Assurance experience and/or experience in Courson or Velocity an asset. Strong Communication - ability to convey messages & build alignment with appropriate stakeholders Conduct training at all levels of an organization Utilize national programs and apply locally, adjust messaging appropriately Strong group presentation skills Ability to work in a warehouse environment Integrative thinker and excellent problem-solving skills & investigative skills Strong work ethic, ability to multi-task in a high-pressure work environment Attention to detail, organization skills High initiative, self-motivation, self-starter, and strong, interactive team player Excellent time management skills, ability to manage multiple priorities Strong influencing skills at all levels of the business Travel Required: Less than 10% This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.
