Medical Assistants (MA) in the medical office setting supports providers by delivering direct and indirect patient care in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner. The MA may assist with clinical procedures, maintains accurate documentation, and provides administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations. The MA functions within their defined scope of practice (based on office type clinic/HOD), under supervision, and in alignment with Mercy's mission and standards of care.

Mercy Clinic Spine & Pain Management is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to join our team. In this role, you'll work closely with providers and patients managing chronic pain and spine-related conditions, helping deliver exceptional care while building meaningful patient relationships.

What You'll Do

Welcome and room patients while obtaining and documenting vital signs

Review and update medical histories, medication lists, and patient information

Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during visits and procedures

Perform basic diagnostic testing and accurately document patient care

Reinforce provider-directed patient education and care plans

Coordinate referrals, follow-up appointments, testing, and other patient care needs

Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked exam rooms

Support front-office operations and ensure a positive patient experience

Follow all Mercy safety, infection prevention, and regulatory standards

Participate in team meetings, quality initiatives, and ongoing professional development

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Willingness to attend Mercy's MA Clinic Academy upon hire

Preferred Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program

One year of Medical Assistant experience in an outpatient or ambulatory setting

Strong communication and customer service skills

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment

Experience working in a specialty clinic preferred
