Job description

The Allegro team is united by a clear purpose—advancing technologies that make the world safer, more efficient, and more sustainable. With over 30 years of experience in semiconductor innovation, we bring that purpose to life across every part of the business—from breakthrough product development and customer success to how we show up for each other and the communities we serve.

The Opportunity

Are you ready to kickstart your career in semiconductor design and help create a safer, more sustainable world? At Allegro MicroSystems, we are developing the high-performance power technologies that drive innovation in electric vehicles, clean energy, and industrial automation.

Join our High Voltage Power (HVP) team in Milan for a challenging and rewarding internship. This entry-level role is the perfect starting point for a career in Allegro’s core product development. You will work alongside world-class engineers, contributing to the components that power our next-generation isolated gate drivers and power solutions. At Allegro, we don’t just design chips; we Innovate with Purpose.

What You’ll Do

  • Design & Simulate: Assist in the design, simulation, and verification of fundamental analog circuits such as amplifiers, filters, and regulators under the guidance of senior mentors.

  • Hands-on Evaluation: Support the development of integrated circuits by performing routine technical tasks, data analysis, and laboratory characterization.

  • Contribute to Real Projects: Execute specific portions of larger engineering projects, following detailed instructions from team leaders to see your ideas come to life.

  • Document Excellence: Ensure clear and precise documentation of your work, including simulation results and test reports, for integration into team-wide projects.

  • Learn the Fundamentals: Master Allegro’s mission and engineering discipline, gaining exposure to industry-standard tools and methodologies.

Who You Are

  • Aspiring Engineer: You are currently pursuing or have recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. No prior professional experience is required.

  • Strong Foundation: You have a solid grasp of fundamental engineering principles, circuit theory, and semiconductor device physics.

  • Fast Learner: You have a demonstrated ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly in the field of analog circuit design.

  • Collaborative Mindset: You possess good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude, thriving in a global, fast-paced environment.

  • Technical Familiarity (Plus): Experience with standard laboratory equipment and basic simulation tools (like SPICE or Cadence) is a significant advantage.
