Here’s a Glimpse of the Job

Texas A&M University’s Department of Chemistry is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on research projects in the general area of inorganic chemistry, with a particular emphasis on the chemistry of antimony Lewis acids for applications in ion capture, sensing, and transport.

Additional responsibilities associated with this position include preparing manuscripts for publication, developing research proposals, and contributing to graduate student mentoring and research group organization.

Opportunities to Contribute

  • Conducts research in inorganic chemistry with a focus on the chemistry of antimony Lewis acids for applications in ion capture, sensing, and transport.

  • Analyzes, interprets, and disseminates research results through group meetings, scientific presentations, manuscripts, reports, and grant proposals.

  • Engages in ongoing professional development by attending scientific meetings and seminars and staying current with relevant literature.

  • Provides guidance, advice, and mentorship to students and other laboratory team members.

  • Maintains laboratory instrumentation and ensures compliance with applicable safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D.  

A well-qualified candidate for this position will also possess:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. 

  • Contributes to team effort by working effectively with individuals from various backgrounds. 

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience.

Special Note: Due to this position’s salary having all or a portion of it being funded by grants or contracts, the continuing salary and overall employment is contingent upon availability of these funds in the future.
