DVEM seeks an experienced Public Service Manger to help support the Maine Army National Guard’s State and Federal missions by leading an advanced administrative team. This position will be the lead manager for the accounting, procurement, contracting, and human resources of the administrative unit. This challenging yet rewarding role is an integral part of the bureau offering opportunity to make a difference.
The DVEM Military Bureau’s Directorate of Facilities Engineering manages and oversees maintenance and construction projects at over two million square feet of Maine Army National Guard Facilities and thousands of acres of Training Sites throughout the State.
Some examples of the tasks associated with this position are
- Establishes priorities, directs and oversees assigned programs; and coordinates unit operations to ensure program objectives and standards are attained.
- Determines staff, material, and equipment needs to contribute to the formulation and justification of budgetary requests.
- Develops and recommends new and revised policies and procedures to improve operations and programs managed.
- Compiles and analyzes fiscal data to prepare financial reports and monitor operating budget.
- Oversees the purchase, issue, transfer, and disposal of equipment and supplies to maintain control and accountability.
- Directs and oversees agency personnel activities to ensure required personnel needs are met expeditiously.
- Implements and complies with human resource laws, policies, procedures and practices such as: AA/EEO, recruitment, employment, position classification, performance appraisals, training, discipline, contract administration, human resource components of security protocols of agency information security and confidentiality policies, and employee safety.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance or related degree and three years of supervisory experience in Accounting, A/R, A/P, Budgeting or Financial Management?
Preference will be given to candidates:
