Our team helps Rakuten Ichiba, Rakuma and other Business Units interpret data to support impactful business decisions. We do this by creating models, dashboards, and data pipelines, and by developing analytical agents. We make a point of using the latest technology and tools to deliver the best results.

We are looking for a data analyst to work on collecting, processing, and performing statistical analyses on large datasets to discover useful information, suggest conclusions, and support decision-making. This role provides insights to fuel business growth and enhance customer experience.  

 

Position Details 

- Track key business KPIs and investigate the underlying drivers behind any changes in performance - Use data extraction and modeling to help stakeholders understand how proposed product updates might affect the business - Improve team efficiency by automating routine analytics tasks through dashboards and AI-driven agents - Facilitate the setup of A/B tests and provide comprehensive evaluations of the results

While English is our primary language for internal communication, Japanese language skills are highly valued.

 

Mandatory Qualifications: 

- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline - Extensive experience (over 3 years) as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role within the Tech (e-commerce is preferred) industry, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility   - Expert proficiency in statistical analysis tools and programming languages, including Python and SQL - Proven ability to lead data exploration, analysis, and visualization efforts, with a strong track record of extracting actionable insights from large and complex datasets - Experience with data cleaning and preparation techniques and familiarity with database management systems. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts is a plus - Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within team - Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights clearly to diverse audiences, contributing to a data-driven environment within the organization

 

Desired Qualifications: 

- Professional fluency in spoken and written Japanese
