We deliver the level of clinical care typically found in private practice, out-of-district placements, or higher levels of care directly within public schools by providing a full continuum of clinical programming, professional development, and district consultation.

Why This Role Matters

You’ll provide critical behavioral health support to students who may not otherwise have access to care by helping them succeed academically, build resilience, and thrive.

At ESS, Mental Health Technicians and Clinicians are trusted partners in shaping supportive school environments.

Starting salary range: $50,000-$55,000

  • Partner closely with ESS clinicians to support students' mental health and overall well-being
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing timely updates to the interdisciplinary team
  • Assist in the development, implementation and reinforcement of the individualized care plans

  • Support therapeutic milieu management (e.g., scheduling sessions, managing passes, lunch support, skill building, escorting students)
  • Provide in-classroom support through observation and targeted interventions
  • Collect and track student data; assist in developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) as needed
  • Respond to crisis situations effectively, coordinating with clinicians, school staff, and parents as directed
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation (data collection, observations, scheduling, etc.)
  • Collaborate with family and external providers to strengthen student support systems
  • Assist with case management tasks, including referrals and connecting families to community resources

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a school or clinical setting supporting student behavioral health
  • Experience working with students, families, and community-based mental health or social service agencies
  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills
