Job Title: Business Rules Engine (BRE) Developer — Decisions Platform
Position Overview
The Business Rules Engine (BRE) Developer supports the Existing Client Enhancements team by maintaining, optimizing, and extending workflows and business rules within the Decisions platform. This role ensures platform stability, compliance, and highquality delivery across client environments while collaborating with cross-functional teams, including QA, Product, and Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and enhance Decisions workflows, business rules, forms, and integrations across active client environments.
Troubleshoot application and platform issues including IIS, SQL Server, ODBC connectivity, and external API performance.
Partner closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to investigate, reproduce, and resolve defects identified during testing or in production.
Participate in version upgrade planning, including compatibility assessments, QA readiness, and rollback strategy planning.
Build and maintain secure integrations with external systems in compliance with HIPAA/PHI requirements.
Develop and optimize SQL queries to support patient data workflows and lifecycle processes.
Implement data validation logic (e.g., regex, formatting rules) to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Document defects, workarounds, and vendor regressions in Azure DevOps with clear reproduction steps and technical notes.
Conduct log analysis and incident investigations using Splunk.
Contribute to Confluence documentation for workflow logic, integration specifications, and deployment runbooks.
Work with team leads and stakeholders to estimate, plan, and deliver enhancement tasks within sprint commitments.
Role Expectations
Work hours: 2 PM – 11 PM IST.
Location: Eversana Pune office, Monday–Friday (on-site).

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience working with low-code/no-code BRE or workflow automation platforms.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Snowflake, etc.).
Familiarity with REST API integrations and external data sources.
Basic understanding of IIS and Windows Server environments.
Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or ServiceNow for task and incident tracking.
Awareness of HIPAA/PHI data-handling practices.
Strong troubleshooting capabilities with an ability to follow logic through multi-step workflows.
Ability to document technical findings clearly and collaborate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with the Decisions BRE platform.
Experience with MuleSoft or similar integration tools.
Exposure to Snowflake or other cloud data warehouse platforms.
Familiarity with Azure DevOps pipelines and multi-environment deployment workflows.
Basic scripting knowledge (C#, JavaScript, Python) for custom logic or automation.
Experience using Splunk for log analysis.
Understanding of healthcare data workflows, including HL7/FHIR.
Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
Familiarity with Postman or other API testing tools.
Experience in compliance-driven environments (HIPAA, SOC 2, etc.).
