About You

You are a Cloud Engineer with strong experience designing, managing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments. You are passionate about building scalable, secure, and reliable cloud solutions that support modern application delivery and operational excellence.

You bring a proactive, analytical, and solution-oriented mindset, capable of managing cloud environments, supporting CI/CD processes, and driving infrastructure automation through Infrastructure as Code practices. You are comfortable collaborating with engineering teams, guiding cloud implementations, and promoting DevOps best practices across projects and environments.

You thrive in collaborative environments where ownership, continuous improvement, and operational reliability are highly valued. You are adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining secure, efficient, and high-performing cloud ecosystems.

You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. (Desirable).
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud computing, specifically with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong knowledge of GCP cloud infrastructure and cloud architecture best practices.
  • Experience with Google Cloud services including Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), and Google Container Registry (GCR).
  • Experience deploying and managing cloud-based applications.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps culture and operational best practices.
  • Experience working with and guiding Cloud Engineering teams.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Experience with containers and containerization tools such as Docker.
  • Experience supporting and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools including GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, Cloud Build, SonarQube, and CircleCI.
  • Linux administration and networking troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking and perimeter security best practices.
  • Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Architect (PCA) and/or Associate Cloud Engineer (ACE). (Nice to have).
  • Advanced English proficiency.

You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities:

  • Propose and implement best practices related to cloud architecture, security, governance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Write and maintain Terraform configurations to manage GCP infrastructure as code.
  • Design and maintain infrastructure, network, topology, and service diagrams across Development, QA, and Production environments.
  • Support and optimize CI/CD lifecycle processes and deployment workflows.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to guide cloud implementation strategies and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Take ownership of assigned cloud environments, ensuring stability, security, and performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to engineering teams regarding cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • 5+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and GCR.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
