A Brief Overview
The Senior Cloud Engineer has advanced knowledge of the application and the technology stack, including strong experience in AWS, Python, and C# to build, enhance, and support cloud‑native applications. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on development, working in modern cloud environments, and collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.
The ideal candidate is comfortable contributing to system design discussions, writing high‑quality code, and continuously improving application performance, security, and operational efficiency.
What You Will Do
Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python and C#/.NET.
Build and support cloud‑native applications on AWS, leveraging managed services where possible.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated builds, testing, and deployments.
Collaborate with product managers and QA teams to deliver features end‑to‑end.
Write clean, well‑documented, and testable code aligned with engineering best practices.
Analyze and resolve production issues, focusing on reliability, performance, and cost optimization.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to team standards and best practices.
Support technical design discussions and contribute to ongoing system improvements.
What You Will Need
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Required
8+ years of software development experience in enterprise or product‑based environments.
Strong hands‑on experience with Python and C#/.NET.
Practical experience developing and running applications on AWS.
Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, S3, RDS or DynamoDB, IAM, CloudWatch, and SQS/SNS.
Solid understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and event‑driven architectures.
Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
Proficiency with Git, CI/CD tools, and automated testing practices.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices.
Strong problem‑solving skills with good communication and collaboration abilities
AWS Certified Developer – Associate.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform).
Knowledge of Docker and container orchestration fundamentals.
Exposure to security best practices, logging, monitoring, and performance tuning in AWS.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Expected Work Location (In Office): It is expected that you will primarily perform work at the Safelite Home Office (7400 Safelite Way, Columbus, OH 43235).
