SLR Consulting is an international environmental consultancy with a globally recognised reputation for providing tailored environmental, sustainability and design services and solutions. We are proud to be growing our established design and assessment team in the APAC region.
SLR’s Brisbane(Meanjin) -based Landscape Architecture Team are located in the heart of the city adjacent the Brisbane River. They form part of the award winning and industry recognised Global Landscape Architectural, Visual Amenity and Urban Design presence in Australia, the UK and the Americas managing a diverse range of exciting projects for our clients across Australia.
We have an opportunity for a qualified and registered Senior Landscape Architects with circa 7-10 years’ experience. This is a permanent, full-time role with our Brisbane Landscape Architecture and Urban Design Team. SLR offers a flexible office environment and pride ourselves on our One Team culture, quality standard of work and positive attitude.
Responsibilities
Collaboration is a key principle within SLR, and while working with the Landscape Architecture team, you will also have the opportunity to work alongside interrelated disciplines and talented professionals in the Environmental, Planning and Geo-spatial teams, across Australia and Internationally.
While you will have the responsibility of managing a range of projects, you will also receive mentoring from industry recognised professionals that care about building a great team and about the skills of each team member to develop your individual professional profile within the industry.
- Manage and coordinate a wide range of project types across landscape architecture, visual assessment, master planning and urban design. From delivery, resourcing to manage budgets and deadlines for effective project management
- Proactively manage client relationships, proposals and report preparation, landscape documentation and construction administration
- Manage client relationships and proposal management, concept design and landscape documentation and report preparation
- Deliver high-quality technical outcomes across a diverse range of projects ensuring the consistent delivery of quality and thoughtful landscape architecture solutions.
- Contribute to and foster the team’s relaxed and positive team culture
- Champion design excellence across all project stages by actively contributing to design reviews, strategic design discussions, and the evolution of innovative, high-quality landscape and placemaking outcomes that align with client objectives and market expectations
- An interest in or proven ability to Develop new and current stakeholder relationships both external and internal to other business units to encourage repeat work and widening SLRs network across sectors
- Achieving commercial performance KPIs including team revenue targets, utilisation through strong service delivery and effective project management
Skills & Experience
- AILA recognised qualifications
- AILA registration - Registered Landscape Architect
- Proven strength in quality technical abilities and passion for great landscape design, environmental and sustainability-based outcomes, and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Circa 7-10 years’ experience within a consultancy or similar Landscape-focused team
- Creative design skills and looks for opportunities to solve problems differently and with a focus on sustainability and cultural awareness
- Good communication skills and the ability to interact well with other professionals and clients as well as leading others
- the desire to both mentor junior staff and learn from other senior staff
- Enthusiasm and commitment to be involved in and to start playing a key role in a range of projects from proposals to site administration
- Ability to develop strong professional relationships
- A Commitment to environmental, cultural and social responsibility that is conveyed in their design outcomes
- Excellent graphic presentation skills
- Experienced in the use of AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite software
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence and Citizenship or right to work in Australia.
