Senior Site Reliability Engineer, Risk Intelligence 

Role summary

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you’ll help build and run reliable, secure, and performant cloud services that our customers depend on. You’ll shape how we define and measure reliability (for example through Service Level Objectives), improve automation in our delivery pipelines, and use infrastructure-as-code to make our platforms easier to operate and scale. We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds—including SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Software Engineering with strong operations experience.

On-call: You’ll take part in a 24x7 team on-call rotation. From time to time, this may include planned out-of-hours maintenance to support a highly available service. We aim to share the load fairly, invest in automation to reduce toil, and continuously improve the on-call experience.

Key responsibilities

• Define, agree, and monitor Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for critical user journeys and cloud components (for example: EKS, DocumentDB, RDS/MySQL, and API Gateway).
•  Design and extend observability using tools such as Datadog and AWS CloudWatch so teams can detect issues early and diagnose them quickly.
• Lead incident response and drive root-cause analysis and remediation, following change control practices that meet LSEG and client expectations.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Customer Support, and leadership to balance reliability, feature delivery, and customer impact.
• Create and maintain clear operational documentation, runbooks, and procedures as services evolve.
• Coach and mentor other engineers, helping to embed reliability practices across the team.

What you’ll bring

• Relevant experience in SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related role (or equivalent practical experience).
• Experience automating infrastructure and delivery workflows—such as Terraform and CI/CD pipelines (for example, GitLab CI/CD).
• Working knowledge of AWS and common services used to build and operate production systems (for example: Lambda, SQS, API Gateway, DocumentDB, RDS/MySQL, and CloudWatch/CloudWatch Insights).
• Comfort working across Linux and/or Windows environments.
• Experience with Kubernetes (including managed services such as Amazon EKS).
• Ability to script to automate and troubleshoot (for example, Python and/or JavaScript).
• Experience building actionable monitoring, alerting, and dashboards (for example, Datadog and CloudWatch).
• Clear communication, curiosity, and a collaborative approach—especially during incidents and post-incident reviews.

Good to have Skills:

Experience operating Kubernetes clusters beyond day-to-day use (upgrades, capacity planning, networking, security).
Software engineering experience in Python and/or JavaScript beyond scripting (testing, packaging, code reviews).
Experience improving observability practices at scale (for example: metric design, alert tuning, incident analytics).
