What you will do As part of the Tony’s Product R&D team, your main goal is to develop new products for innovation and renovation projects, in order to develop the global Tony's product portfolio, as Tony’s products are the driving force behind commercial success, profitable growth, and impact. You make sure we develop products in the product segments Bars, Seasonal, Gifting & Bitesize that surprise and delight, and lead the technical development process from briefing to kitchen, to launch (first production)- on time, on brief and meeting Tony’s product principles and quality standards. All wrapped up, in this role you will Deliver directly yourself or together with other product specialist in the team products for innovation (NPD) & renovation (improving our current products), across various chocolate segments in seasonal, gifting & bitesize and thus with different production techniques and manufacturing partners. Support other Product Development Specialist in kitchen activities (prototype making, sensory panel sessions, shelf life testing experiments) and industrial trials when needed. Translate a brief from the Innovation & Renovation team into product & pack attributes, and you make sure to always add some Tony’s magic to be able to disrupt in the category. Bring development from concept brief to execution, from formulation in our kitchen, up until a successful first production. Deliver product development on cost target to make the business case work – incl. Ideation/development of alternative routes if needed. Work closely with our Operations & Quality team and networks of co-mans and suppliers, to ensure new-products can be manufactured (efficiently and cost-effectively), meeting foods safety and regulatory and without loosing Tony’s magic. Follow a product development process so that projects are run smoothly & actively suggest for improvements to be made. Conduct sensory evaluations (for example with our in house taste panel) for new and existing products to ensure quality, consistency and get director for further development. Set up, prepare, execute and evaluate production trials, together with our teams & co-mans. Identify and actively manage risk in projects in close collaboration with project managers. You do this within Tony’s and together with our external partners (co-mans, suppliers).
