The Senior Compensation Analyst is an experienced HR professional with deep expertise in compensation analysis, market pricing, and pay program administration. This role serves as the organization's primary compensation subject-matter expert, supporting compensation strategy and administration across the Sasser family of companies. The ideal candidate brings strong compensation experience and an interest in supporting broader total rewards programs, including benefits administration. Experience supporting sales compensation programs is required.
This role offers the opportunity to influence compensation programs and decision-making across a diverse portfolio of businesses, partnering closely with HR and business leaders to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices.
Responsibilities
Compensation Analysis & Market Pricing
Conduct job evaluations, market pricing, and benchmarking for new and existing roles
Provide analytical support for job evaluations, ensuring alignment across job families and leveling.
Develop reports and analyses to evaluate the equity and competitiveness of pay programs, translating findings into clear recommendations for leadership.
Build compensation models for new hires, promotions, lateral transfers, and organizational restructuring
Evaluate, update, and maintain pay grade structures and salary bands, ensuring internal equity and market competitiveness
Administer and model annual merit review cycles, including budget allocation and manager guidance
Participate in external compensation surveys and benchmarking studies
Create analytics, dashboards and ad hob reporting related to compensation and employee data
Sales Compensation Support
Administer and audit sales incentive compensation plans, including commissions, accelerators, SPIFFs, and quota-based structures
Support Sales leadership to model plan design scenarios and assess cost impact
Maintain sales compensation plan documentation and support the annual sales comp planning cycle
Provide analytical support for bonus programs and other variable pay initiatives
Analyze sales compensation data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for plan optimization
Benefits Administration
Manage benefits invoicing and reconciliation across all benefit lines
Own vendor and broker relationships, including contract negotiations and ongoing performance management
Support annual Open Enrollment process end-to-end, including system configuration
Support Workers’ Compensation renewal processes and coordinate with brokers and carriers
Manage contract renewals for benefit plans, ensure plan documents are updated, i.e. SBC’s and SPD’s, and related services
Compliance & Audit
Own ACA reporting preparation and filing
Coordinate Form 5500 preparation and submission
Complete EEO-1 and state/federal pay reporting and filings
Complete and file nondiscrimination testing
Support benefit plan audits (401(k) and Workers’ Compensation), including document preparation and auditor interface
Ensure data integrity within HCM
Required Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree
4-7 years of progressive compensation experience within an HR, Finance, or Total Rewards function
Demonstrated experience with sales compensation administration, including commissions, SPIFFs, accelerators, and quota-based plans
Proficiency in job matching, market pricing, and salary structure work
Strong analytical skills; advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, scenario modeling)
Experience with compensation survey participation and market pricing methodologies
Exceptional attention to detail with a track record of managing multiple concurrent priorities
Strong communication skills; ability to present complex data clearly to HR, Finance, and business leadership
Strongly Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Workday HCM experience
Familiarity with HRIS data exports and ability to troubleshoot data quality issues
Exposure to benefits administration, compliance, or audit activities
Prior experience in a multi-entity or growing mid-market organization
Working knowledge of benefits compliance requirements: ACA, ERISA, 5500, EEO-1
Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills
Demonstrated adaptability, curiosity, and commitment to continuous improvement
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Ability to travel periodically, as needed to support HR initiatives and business needs

Compensation/Benefits
The hiring range for this role is: $91,000 - $130,000.00 USD Annual. This role is classified as exempt for purposes of all applicable wage and hour laws, which means that the individual hired will receive overtime pay for more than 40 hours worked in a workweek. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on financial and personal performance throughout the plan year.
Sasser is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Pay ranges are assigned to a job based on market data according to 3rd party salary benchmarking surveys. Actual base salary is dependent upon factors such as knowledge, skill level, and experience.
