About the Team


Our Procurement Contracting Center of Excellence (CoE) is a global capability team within Procurement Strategy & Delivery that supports Haleon’s ambition of delivering best‑in‑class contracting excellence, compliance, risk mitigation and value realization. The team develops and governs contracting standards, templates, playbooks, processes, technologies and insights that ensure consistent, high‑quality contracting outcomes across all categories and regions. By working as One Procurement — in partnership with Legal, Category Management, Risk, Finance, Data & Digital, and regional procurement teams — the Contracting CoE drives performance, reduces complexity, enhances stakeholder experience and strengthens business controls.

The Contracting CoE, along with the Procurement Strategy & Delivery Leadership Team, will instil a culture of continuous improvement and a Service Excellence mindset. This team will work globally ensuring consistency in the right contracting processes and ensure solutions meet the needs locally, where required.

Role Overview

The Procurement Contracting CoE Lead is accountable for building, operating and scaling a world‑class global procurement contracting capability for Haleon. The role owns the strategy, governance, operating model, and transformation roadmap for contracting excellence across Procurement. You will define standards, optimize processes, introduce digital automation, and ensure alignment with policy, legal guidance and risk frameworks. You will lead a global contracting team, partner with Legal and Procurement leaders, and champion continuous improvement to drive efficiency, compliance, and speed-to-contract — ultimately enabling superior business value and reduced risk. This role is central to elevating contracting maturity, strengthening controls, enabling user-friendly processes, and driving stakeholder trust in Procurement’s contracting ecosystem

Key Responsibilities

Strategy, Governance & Operating Model

  • Define and own the global contracting strategy, vision, operating model and multi‑year roadmap.

  • Establish governance frameworks, KPIs, SLAs, and quality controls.

  • Create and maintain contracting templates, playbooks, clause libraries, and procedures.

  • Chair global contracting governance boards and forums

Contracting Process Excellence

  • Build and scale the global Contracting CoE.

  • Optimize and automate end‑to‑end contracting processes.

  • Improve speed-to-contract, user experience, quality and compliance.

  • Oversee all continuous improvement initiatives to deliver process efficiencies and enhance user experience

Stakeholder & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Support a customer-focused service model by providing timely, responsive and value-driven contracting support to Procurement, Legal and business stakeholders

  • Drive adoption of contracting standards and tools.

  • Represent Procurement in executive forums and risk committees.

Technology, Automation & Data

  • Drive adoption of CLM systems and analytics capabilities (Ariba, OnIt, Contract.ai etc.).

  • Lead digital innovation, AI-driven analytics and workflow automation.

  • Own contract metadata standards, reporting and dashboards

Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead and manage the contracting team providing clear direction and purpose for the contracting services team, fostering a culture of accountability, agility and high performance

  • Define org design and workforce plan.

  • Provide direction to staff on work allocation, prioritization, and execution approach

  • Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, coaching, and development of staff

  • Sponsor training, upskilling and capability development.

  • Embed continuous improvement and service excellence culture

Performance, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure all contracts comply with legal, regulatory and internal policy requirements

  • Define KPIs and monitor contracting performance.

  • Ensure audit readiness, controls and policy compliance

  • Implement governance frameworks and controls to monitor compliance and mitigate risks

Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Bachelors – Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, related field or any Bachelors, combined with relevant experience.

  • 15+ years of experience in Procurement Contracting operations with strong domain expertise in understanding of the end-to-end Source-to-Pay procurement lifecycle

  • Proven expertise in commercial and contract negotiations, strategic sourcing, indirect category management, cost modeling, and supplier relationship management

  • Strong hands-on experience on Contracting tools and technologies (Ariba, OnIT, etc)

  • Demonstrated experience with high-value contracts and mid-to-large scale procurement projects

  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent experience in continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills.

  • Experience in resolving operational issues and managing escalations through root cause analysis.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions

  • Oversight of procurement operations and staff supervision. Advanced leadership, team management and process governance.

  • Policy and procedure development for compliance and efficiency

  • Ability to analyse complex data and prepare management reports

  • Excellent communication, coordination and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to handle complex issues, and influence stakeholders effectively

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (e.g., PowerPoint and Excel)
