Nurse B - Public Health Nurse

In an environment that supports continuous improvement and under the supervision of the Communicable Diseases/Sexual Health Program Nursing Supervisor, the employee in this position provides investigation and the related follow-up of reportable and non reportable communicable diseases, including sexually transmitted disease, on a day-to-day basis. This employee examines patients for sexually transmitted disease and ensures that necessary examination and treatments are carried out. This employee provides HIV counseling and anonymous HIV testing for those clients requesting this service. This employee provides family planning information and counseling, and under the direction of the Medical Health Officer or Deputy Medical Health Officer, will provide specifically selected contraceptive supplies.
