Job Summary We are seeking to fill the Regional Division Head, Tertiary Psychiatry Programs, position which provides overall professional practice leadership and direction to the members of a professional regional division within Fraser Health. The successful candidate will have lead responsibility for the maintenance of medical and ethical standards of practice and ensures activities of the Regional Division are consistent with the FH MHSU program priorities and directions. Reporting and accountable to the Program Medical Director (PMD), as a member of the medical staff, the Regional Division Head (RDH) is in charge of and responsible for the operation of, quality of care of, and activities within a regional division. Recruitment will proceed as per the FHA Medical Staff Bylaws. Reporting to the Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Program Medical Director, the responsibilities of the Regional Division Head (Tertiary) will include, but are not limited to: Develops annual operating objectives for the Regional Division. Functions as the channel of communication to and from the regional division to keep members of the regional division informed regarding Fraser Health (FH), Health Authority Medical Advisory Committee (HAMAC), departmental and divisional objectives, policies and general activities. Participate in the Department of Psychiatry operations committee meeting. Develops, along with the members of the regional division, the standards of clinical practice for the division. Ensures that the division members work within established standards. Ensures that programs for the continuing medical education of regional division members are established. Establishes a quality assurance/quality improvement structure and program for the regional division, which carries out the functions of review, evaluation and analysis of the quality of Medical Care and utilization of FH resources. Attend the MHSU regional meetings. Review applications for privileging and make recommendations regarding the granting of privileges to physicians. Manage the regional budget, in collaboration with the Program Medical Director. Promote health and wellness amongst Members. Investigate complaints regarding care provided by Members within the Tertiary Psychiatry Programs under the direction of the Program Medical Director. Encourage a healthy, respectful workplace. Review with the Program Medical Director the human resource requirements of the Regional Division. Contribute to the search and selection of applicants for vacancies in the Regional Division Qualifications The successful candidate must: • Have current licensure with CPSBC and current CMPA coverage • Have FRCPC in Psychiatry or FRCPC eligible • Be an active Medical staff member of the Fraser Health Authority Mental Health and Substance Use Program, and • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
