We are seeking a talented individual to join our Ireland Consulting Team at Mercer. This role will be based in Lisbon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
As a consulting analyst, you will work as part of a team supporting consultants in all aspects of pensions consulting and governance work on both corporate and trustee clients.
You will work directly with Ireland-based consultants and manage the delivery of services to our clients.
We will count on you to:
- Support your client team on project management, day-to-day client contact, problem resolution, and supervision of analysts’ work
- Undertake actuarial modelling, spreadsheet modelling and calculations, including valuations, individual calculations, regular updates, actuarial factors and accounting work.
- Supporting in the preparation of Trustee meetings packs;
- Draft and update all the relevant governance documents required under IORP II;
- Collect information to provide to Key Function holders (Internal Audit and/or Risk Manager);
- Prepare and link with the different stakeholders to prepare the governance compliance checklist;
- Liaise with other Mercer business areas to deliver a streamlined service to clients.
- Be involved in ad-hoc project work as required, for example, risk management exercises, ETV projects, redundancy projects, etc.
- Act as a key point of contact for technical and scheme-specific queries received from clients, third parties and other Mercer businesses.
- Support the business in some non-billable task such as billing process, general analysis, etc.
What you need to have:
- Bachelors or Master’s in Actuarial, Mathematics, Economics, Management, Finance or similar.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills in order to prioritise and effectively manage a wide variety of ongoing tasks, in order to meet the multiple deadlines;
- Proven team player with a flexible attitude towards work;
- Ability to multitask, prioritise workloads and sometimes work to tight deadlines;
- Proven ability to deliver excellent client service and satisfaction;
- Strong problem solving skills & ability to clearly articulate complex issues.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (in particular a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and Word);
- Good attention to detail is critical;
