Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Analyst - Payroll & Continuous Improvement– Mexico (SAP) to join our Mexico payroll operations team. This is a hands-on, critical role responsible for accurate, timely, and compliant processes related to Mexico payroll using SAP. The position will play a key role in supporting a complex payroll vendor (Strada) implementation and will continue as a critical operational role post‑go‑live, primarily supporting the continued evolution of the LATAM payroll operating model. The role will initially focus on stabilizing and optimizing Mexico payroll operations on a standardized SAP-based platform, working closely with the payroll vendor (Strada) and internal stakeholders. Over time, the scope will expand to include continuous improvement and transformation activities supporting payroll operations across LATAM (Mexico and South America). This position is ideal for a seasoned Mexico payroll professional who combines strong execution and compliance expertise with analytical capabilities and a passion for operational excellence and transformation. Key Responsibilities Payroll Operations & New Platform Implementation Execute end-to-end payroll processes for Mexico in SAP, including regular, off-cycle, and special payroll runs. Perform payroll reconciliations, variance analysis, and retroactive adjustments. Identify and work on process remediations related to payroll discrepancies and/r discrepancies related to ISR, IMSS, Infonavit, bonuses, terminations, and union-driven scenarios. Partner with the payroll vendor and internal HR, Finance, and Controls teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure payroll accuracy, timeliness, and process adherence Ensure processes are in compliance with Mexican payroll regulations, statutory deadlines, and internal controls. Support payroll audits, statutory reporting, and regulatory inspections in partnership with Audit & Compliance as needed. Work with payroll vendor, payroll operations teams and internal digital teams to translate requirements. Continuous Improvement & Transformation Responsibilities (future focused) Analyze payroll processes and operating models to identify inefficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce manual work, rework, and defect rates. Strengthen Tier 1 payroll support effectiveness and clarify handoffs between Tier 1, Tier 2, and vendor teams. Support standardization and simplification of payroll processes across LATAM. Use payroll data, error trends, audit findings, and operational metrics to develop insights and recommendations. Contribute to broader payroll transformation initiatives ensuring compliance and operational stability are maintained. Required Experience & Qualifications 8+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience with deep expertise in Mexico payroll. Proven experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives for processing complex payroll scenarios including retroactivity, bonuses, statutory payments, and terminations. 4+ years of experience working with SAP Payroll (Mexico preferred). Experience supporting payroll system implementations, vendor transitions, or operating model changes. Strong knowledge of Mexican payroll regulations including ISR, IMSS, Infonavit, labor law, and union considerations. Required Skills & Competencies High attention to detail and commitment to payroll accuracy. Strong analytical and data reconciliation skills, strong SAP based skills. Ability to identify root causes and translate issues into improvement opportunities. Strong organizational and time-management skills in a deadline-driven environment. Ability to operate independently while contributing to regional objectives. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting payroll audits and statutory inspections. Exposure to regional or multi-country payroll environments. Prior involvement in continuous improvement, operational excellence, or transformation initiatives.
