UOB Innovation Hub 2 (InnoHub 2) is a newly set up technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of UOB Group Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation.

About The Department

The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. We work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Singapore and overseas branches.

Job Responsibilities

You will be part of the Service Monitoring Alerting and Reporting Tool (SMART) team.
Service Monitoring Alerting and Reporting Tool (SMART) is a web dashboard developed in-house using Django /Python framework and with a responsive UI design. This tool focuses on process automation, collate, and visualize alerts across various data sources.

SMART provides a holistic view, stitching together events arising from multiple alerting systems which are actionable, trackable, and auditable. We have about 14 modules servicing Group Technology & Operations (GTO) divisions in Singapore currently and scaling out to other subsidiaries across regions.  This role involves enhancing and maintaining this tool as per user requirements.

• Drive the end-to-end development lifecycle of applications, from requirements gathering through deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and end-users to gather, analyse and finalise functional specifications, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Design, develop and maintain scalable web applications using Python 3 and Django framework.
• Uphold strong governance and quality standards, ensuring timely delivery in accordance with agile methodologies.
• Participate actively in prioritisation, design and development across both frontend and backend components.
• Develop robust backend services leveraging Python/Django, ensuring performance, security and scalability.
• Work within Linux/Unix environments, utilising shell scripting for automation and operational efficiency.
• Build and enhance user interfaces using HTML, CSS and jQuery, ensuring usability and responsiveness.
• Design, optimise and maintain relational databases (MSSQL, PostgreSQL), including query tuning and data integrity management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems and deliver seamless solutions.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant working experience in software development.
• Strong expertise in backend development using Python and Django.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, including shell scripting.
• Solid experience in frontend technologies including HTML, CSS and jQuery.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases such as MSSQL and PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and delivering within structured timelines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
