Job description
With a strong reputation for excellence, our growing Continuing Care and Support Services division is seeking an experienced and motivated Medical Secretary to join our busy Camberwell consulting suites. This is a key front-facing role supporting the smooth day-to-day running of our practice. Reporting to the Practice Manager, you will play an important part in delivering a professional, efficient, and welcoming experience for both patients and clinicians.

This casual role requires availability between 8:00am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday on a rotating roster.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service with professionalism and attention to detail
- Manage the front desk operations including patient check-ins and payment processing
- Answer and direct phone calls with professional telephone etiquette
- Manage referrals and book appointments
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
- Prepare clinician schedules and coordinate daily communications (emails, faxes, messages)
- Liaise with internal departments and external healthcare providers
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflow and improve clinic efficiency
- Provide general reception and administrative support as required
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture.
To be successful in this role, desirably you will have:
- Previous experience in medical reception or administration (mental health or specialist setting highly regarded)
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
- Intermediate computer literacy and a willingness to learn new systems (Genie experience desirable, training provided)
- Knowledge of Medicare and billing processes.
- A confident, calm phone manner and strong interpersonal skills.
- A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
- Fluent in Mandarin (Highly desirable but not essential)
