About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Verification & Validation (V&V) to drive end-to-end quality ownership for software releases across our medical device platforms.

In this role, you will be the quality gatekeeper for software releases, ensuring that each release meets the highest standards of safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

Responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant products during new product development and maintenance of existing product platforms, ensuring quality assurance of software solutions for Blood Gas and Immunoassay Medical Device products.

This position reports to the Verification Function Manager and is part of the India Development Center Software R&D team located in Bengaluru, India and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Effectively and efficiently own and execute formal verification activities.
  • Own release readiness assessments and sign-off decisions and improve verification efficiency, defect containment, and release predictability.
  • Define test plans, test scenarios, and both manual and automated test scripts for functional and regression testing.
  • Actively support the development team in investigating identified issues, including root cause analysis and defining reproducibility steps.
  • Own the definition of software test strategy, test plans, test infrastructure, and the planning and execution of both automated and manual test cases.
  • Perform root cause analysis and ensure closure of critical defects pre-release.
  • Apply risk-based testing approaches aligned with regulated environments
  • Work in an iterative product release environment with a strong focus on quality, continuous improvement, and delivery goals.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in software testing and verification, with strong exposure to release verification and validation.
  • Proven track record of leading validation efforts for complex software releases
  • Ability to comprehend and address functional issues within the entire test system
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and collaboration skills for working in a cross-functional team.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Understanding of software development processes in a regulated environment
  • Software development experience in the medical device domain
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum software development methodologies
  • Basic knowledge of automation testing with Tools like UFT (OpenText), Test Complete or PowerShell scripting.
