About the Role

We are seeking highly switched-on, reliable, and professional Security Control Room Operators to join the security operations team at one of Australia’s leading universities, located in the Sydney CBD.

This is a critical frontline role within a 24/7 control room environment, requiring individuals who are alert, adaptable, and capable of responding effectively to incidents and emergencies.

Employment Details

• Pay Rate: Level 5 – $29.79 per hour

• Additional Benefits: Superannuation + applicable shift loadings

• Roster: 24/7 operation – must be flexible to work days, nights, weekends, and public holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and oversee 300+ CCTV cameras across a large campus environment

• Monitor alarms, intercoms, and access control systems

• Respond to incidents and alarms in line with established procedures

• Coordinate with on-site security teams and emergency services

• Accurately document incidents, logs, and reports

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors

Essential Requirements

• Current NSW Security Licence (unrestricted or monitoring subclass)

• Valid First Aid & CPR certification

• Certificate II or III in Security Operations (or equivalent)

• Ability to pass relevant background and police checks

• Strong computer literacy and report-writing skills

• Excellent communication and situational awareness
