What you’ll do 

As the Sustainability Manager, your mission is to take the lead by executing a comprehensive Sustainability Roadmap for Swine initiatives across the ECA region. In this dynamic role, you will collaborate closely with various departments, including sales, technical, and global teams to drive sustainability strategies, elevate the company’s reputation and strengthen Trouw Nutrition’s position as leader in sustainable animal nutrition within the ECA market.  

 

This role will be responsible for executing and scaling our swine carbon reduction program across ECA, acting as both a strategic driver and industry ambassador. The focus is on connecting sustainability with commercial impact, while engaging key regional customers, supporting sales, and positioning the program as a driver of efficiency and precision.  As part of the carbon reduction program, the person will lead the adoption of digital carbon footprint tools, working closely with the digital team to implement solutions, train stakeholders, and identify emission hotspots.  

 

The role involves representing Trouw Nutrition at industry events, strengthening its sustainability positioning at CEO level, and building a strong network across the value chain (retailers, producers, partners, and experts).  

 

 In short, a very diverse and challenging role with a lot of opportunities to lead and shape how we feed the future in Europe & Central Asia. 

 

Who we’re looking for 

A successful candidate will require strong stakeholder influence, the ability to translate sustainability into clear business value and lead the path for sustainable swine production (especially in a market with limited regulatory pressure and no established market standard). Their passion for sustainability will translate into inspiration for stakeholders to join our purpose, pave the path for early adopters and build partnerships across the value chain that drive long-term impact in the swine industry. 

 

You’ll also need:   

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Sustainability, Agriculture or Marketing. 

  • You bring 7+ years of professional experience, with demonstrated exposure to sustainability topics, concepts and initiatives. 

  • You have a track record in driving sustainability initiatives and the ability to translate them into business impact.  

  • Experience within the animal production/feed/nutrition sectors will be preferred. Other industries such as food or animal pharma, are also welcomed. 

  • You are passionate about sustainability and want to be a force for change. 

  • You have the ability to influence others and naturally inspire others through your passion for sustainability. 

  • Fluent English, other European languages are appreciated. 

  • Strong business acumen, stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.   

  • You live in Europe and are willing to occasionally travel to Amersfoort or other locations in ECA if needed.
