Responsible for extracting knowledge and insights from data in order to investigate business/operational problems through a range of data preparation, modeling, analysis, and/or visualization techniques.

-Collects, analyzes, and reports data to support decisions on day-to-day operations, strategic planning, and/or specific business performance issues.
-Collates, models, interprets, and analyzes data.
-Explains variances and trends in data.
-Identifies and documents enhancements to modeling techniques.
-Completes thorough quality assurance procedures, ensuring accuracy, reliability, trustworthiness, and validity of work.
-Performs data validation of source-to-target data for data visuals and dashboards.

Experience
Experience working with data, preferably healthcare data 2-3 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Healthcare knowledge, particularly as it pertains to electronic medical record data, is preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of relational databases, SQL, data visualization, and Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau.
- Knowledge and application of statistical analyses, including variance analysis and statistical significance, are preferred.
- Project management skills and/or experience are a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

We are seeking an exceptional Research Data Concierge (Data Analyst II) expert to play a central role in PREDDICT, a next-generation clinical and research program being developed at Spaulding Rehabilitation. Focused on predicting, preventing, and improving long-term health and wellness outcomes across high-risk populations, PREDDICT brings together precision rehabilitation medicine, data science, and digital health to redefine how injury and recovery are understood and treated—extending not only lifespan, but HealthSpan, the period of life spent in good health.

Rehabilitation settings care for people with life-changing injuries such as brain injury, stroke, burns, spinal cord injury, and limb loss. PREDDICT leverages electronic health records and advanced analytics, including machine learning, to infuse data-driven decision-making into care during a pivotal time in patients’ lives. The program integrates clinical care, longitudinal research, advanced analytics, and system-level implementation to move beyond siloed studies and toward scalable, real-world impact. This role will build the foundation of that mission.

The Data Concierge will hold and grow expertise in the Mass General Brigham (MGB) electronic health record (EHR) including an understanding of key rehabilitation data elements, and their location in the data architecture. They serve as the primary liaison between researchers, clinician-scientists, clinical teams, and data teams, ensuring seamless access to accurate, timely, and relevant data. This role requires a deep understanding of data systems, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to translate business needs into actionable data solutions. Examples of data needs include cohort feasibility, data for projects, data governance process and connecting researchers with the appropriate resources and tools to keep data secure and compliant with MGB policies. It is an opportunity to help shape how complex clinical data are transformed into insight, prediction, and evidence that directly informs care delivery and long-term outcomes in rehabilitation and disability health.

The Data Analyst will work in a highly matrixed environment, collaborating across the HealthSpan Lab, the Rehabilitation Outcomes Center at Spaulding, and MGB Digital data, cloud, and innovation teams.

Skills:

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in querying complex data structures using an SQL dialect.

    • General programming skills and experience with Python preferred. Familiarity with other data-focused programming languages (e.g., SAS, R, or MATLAB).

    • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and Excel.

    • Familiarity with data management platforms, databases, and ETL processes.

    • Understanding of data governance, privacy, and security practices.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Ownership, ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks effectively
