Job Details
Thomas Jefferson University seeks to fill a position for a full-time, 9 month, non-tenure-track faculty member as a Visiting Assistant Professor starting in August 2026. The candidate must have a strong commitment to undergraduate biochemistry education. Educational responsibilities include teaching introductory biochemistry courses and general chemistry and biology courses including lectures and labs for life science majors and non-majors. The standard teaching load for a Visiting Assistant Professor is 15 credits per semester.Job Description
Qualifications:
EDUCATION REQUIRED: Candidates should have a research or clinical doctorate or a foreign equivalent to a U.S. doctoral degree in biochemistry, molecular biology or a closely related field. Masters-prepared candidates will be considered.
Candidates who will thrive in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment are strongly encouraged. Ideal candidates will have a record of teaching at the undergraduate level and a demonstrated commitment to the pedagogies of active student learning aligning with Jefferson’s signature Nexus learning approaches. While candidates with expertise in any field of life science will be considered, applicants in areas of general biochemistry and molecular biology are especially encouraged.
