Essential duties include the following:
Assists in the maintenance and enhancement of legacy COBOL applications.
Performs debugging and troubleshooting to resolve application issues.
Collaborates with senior developers to understand system requirements and design specifications.
Participates in code reviews and contribute to improving coding standards.
Documents application changes and provide support for system testing.
Works closely with the IT team to ensure seamless integration and performance of applications.
Learns and applies best practices for COBOL programming and iSeries platform management.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications:
Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Basic understanding of programming concepts and logic.
Ability to write SQL queries.
Basic understanding of Java.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Prior experience with any programming language is a plus but not required.
