- Project Planning & Execution
- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets aligned with organizational goals.
- Prepare Project Charter defining scope, objectives, deliverables, and stakeholder roles.
- Break down projects into Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for better task allocation and monitoring.
- Define critical path activities and implement strategies to avoid delays.
- Establish baseline schedules and track progress using MS Project and related tools.
- Conduct feasibility studies and resource requirement analysis before project initiation.
- Implement Earned Value Management (EVM) for cost and schedule performance tracking.
- Prepare contingency plans for potential delays or resource shortages.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements during execution.
- Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and improve future planning
- Stakeholder Management
- Identify key stakeholders and maintain strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct stakeholder analysis and implement a Communication Plan for timely updates.
- Facilitate regular meetings and manage stakeholder concerns proactively.
- Risk & Communication Management
- Develop and maintain a Risk Matrix to identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
- Ensure escalation and resolution of critical issues impacting timelines or budgets.
- Resource Management
- Plan and allocate manpower, machinery, and tools to optimize productivity.
- Monitor resource utilization and adjust allocations to meet changing project needs.
- Implement strategies for capacity planning and workload balancing across teams.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper maintenance of equipment.
- Track resource performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop contingency plans for resource shortages or unexpected disruptions.
- Material & Inventory Control
- Plan and control material requirements, including indenting, procurement, and reconciliation.
- Maintain inventory at minimum required stock while ensuring uninterrupted supply.
- Implement systems for proper material identification and tracking at receiving points.
- Manufacturing & Process Optimization
- Conduct design reviews for manufacturing feasibility.
- Identify and develop fixtures, devices, and manufacturing instructions for critical processes.
- People Management
- Lead and mentor project teams to achieve defined objectives.
- Allocate resources effectively and monitor team performance.
- Conduct regular team meetings, provide guidance, and resolve conflicts.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Identify training needs and support skill development for team members.
- Vendor & Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, and select vendors based on performance metrics.
- Develop alternate sourcing strategies for continuity and cost competitiveness.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Generate defined reports for progress monitoring and management appraisal.
- Prepare action plans and assembly-wise project budgets.
- Travel
- Visit project sites for execution and coordination as required.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS):
- On-Time Delivery Rate: % of projects completed within agreed timelines.
- Budget Adherence: Variance between planned and actual project costs.
- Stakeholder Satisfaction Score: Based on feedback and engagement effectiveness.
- Risk Mitigation Effectiveness: % of identified risks successfully mitigated.
- Inventory Accuracy: % compliance with minimum stock levels and reconciliation.
- Supplier Performance: Measured by on-time delivery, quality compliance, and cost competitiveness.
- Communication Efficiency: Timeliness and accuracy of status reports and stakeholder updates.
- Design review effectiveness: % of design/ engineering approved without major rework.
- Team Productivity: Achievement of project milestones and efficiency matrix
- Education – Should be an Engineering Graduate (Mechanical/ Chemical / Electrical). PMP certification is preferred.
- Experience - Should possess 10 - 15 years’ experience in project management and execution, preferably in any metals and mining (preferably steel) / manufacturing / heavy engineering.
- Hands-on experience in MS Project and other project management software.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and reporting tools.
