SUMMARY OF POSITION
This position supports the City’s environmental compliance programs by conducting inspections, sampling, permitting, and monitoring activities related to wastewater pretreatment and stormwater systems. Responsibilities include working with industrial users, ensuring compliance with State and Federal regulations, providing technical guidance, and supporting a variety of environmental protection initiatives.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Selection will be based on overall qualifications, skills testing (if applicable), and an interview process. The final candidate selected will be subject to a comprehensive background/reference check commensurate to the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Associate of Applied Science degree in wastewater treatment, biology, environmental science, chemistry, or a related field.
One (1) year of experience in stormwater treatment, wastewater treatment, wastewater collection systems, or pretreatment programs.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Valid driver’s license
Obtain Flagger Certification within six (6) months of hire and maintain for duration of employment.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with federal and WA state environmental compliance
