Job description

The Opportunity: 

Mattel is seeking to hire a People & Culture Intern based in our Italian Office. The Intern will be collaborating on the delivery of the people strategy, with the support of EMEA region centers of expertise in Talent and Comp & Ben. The PC organization globally is undergoing an exciting phase of transformation in becoming a true strategic partner and this opportunity requires a progressive, innovative and commercially-focused individual to help drive capability and build performance. 

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Support the implementation of People & Culture policies and procedures across all stages of the employee lifecycle. 
  • Assist in embedding new processes and ensuring high-quality service delivery in payroll, operations, and administration. 
  • Partner with the People & Culture Business Partner to support culture and engagement initiatives that energize and inspire employees. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage with the wider People & Culture and business community. 
  • Support the planning and execution of local employee engagement activities and events. 
  • Prepare documentation, including employment contracts, offer letters, and contract amendments. 
  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation activities for new hires. 
  • Track probation periods, temporary employee end dates, absences, parental leave, holidays, and time & attendance records. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases in compliance with local legislation and company policies. 
  • Promote and embody Mattel’s values across all aspects of the People agenda. 

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Degree in Business Administration or related field (HR, Labor Law, Psychology); initial HR experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills with a people-centric, collaborative, and positive approach
  • Highly operational, solution-oriented, and driven to deliver results
  • Quick learner with strong adaptability
  • Fluent in Italian and English; Spanish is a plus
  • Knowledge of Italian employment law is an advantage
