Omdia is currently seeking an experienced Senior Principal Analyst to be a worldwide analytical leader within the group’s coverage of the DRAM memory industry.
As a Senior Principal Analyst for the DRAM memory industry, you will contribute to a compelling, commercially relevant research agenda, clearly positioning the team and Omdia as the definitive source of insight, and at the forefront of thought leadership within the DRAM memory industry.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Leading voice for DRAM memory market analysis and strategy, instrumental in shaping the delivery of thought-leading research.
- Thorough knowledge and experience, this candidate will have achieved external recognition as an expert in the field of worldwide DRAM memory markets.
- Developing and conducting primary and secondary research on the DRAM memory industry. Authoring expert and detailed quantitative, qualitative, and insightful analysis which goes beyond data sets by bringing your experience and knowledge to formulate a complete and insightful view of the DRAM memory industry. Not only what is happening today but also providing insight into potential future activities.
- Producing written insights and press material that provides a solution perspective; is opinionated, thinks outside of the box and looks for opportunities to comment on industry news; highly recognized within coverage areas primary research.
- Maintaining a comprehensive model of DRAM memory manufacturing, including but not limited to fab capacity by company, by technology, capex, capacity expansion plans, wafer and bit output, manufacturing process node advancements, in-depth DRAM demand analysis, and revenue analysis. Accept ownership of the model and datasets, with the ability to adapt quickly as the market changes to transform data and bring in new research demand by the customer base.
- In-depth knowledge of High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), including vendor manufacturing, technology, and output projections, its impact to traditional DRAM manufacturing, as well as knowledge of A.I. demand markets.
- Bringing highly developed research interview connection lines, and data gathering skill set via an established network of senior industry players.
- Regular international travel to attend industry events, meet with top level clients and participate in regular discussions on key market trends such as the impact of technology, expansion plans, macro and micro-economic impacts; include guidance and opinions on risks and opportunities.
- Partnering with the sales and product development teams to generate new leads, progress existing leads, and support renewals; use scoping to continually evolve the research offering.
- Ability to multitask and meet deliverable deadlines on a regular basis.
- This position requires the ability to effectively communicate thought-provoking and original analytical findings to a global client base that includes semiconductor equipment and manufacturing companies, technology providers, government agencies, industry associations, and the financial community
- Leading industry knowledge of the DRAM memory industry and manufacturing operations
- Ability to write detailed, insightful and opinionated reports in a structured and concise way
- Confident to form personal opinions on industry trends, and express those opinions with backing data
- Established network of senior industry players, ability to informally call on senior contacts for updates
- Excel database and pivot table expertise
- Advanced ability to find and piece together insight from multiple sources and to connect the dots; thinks big picture about market, not just the issue at hand
- Ability to develop both supply and demand driven data and analysis, with understanding of supply chain dynamics
- Multitasking – ability to prioritize and delegate competing tasks effectively
- Comfortable hosting customer briefings and leading customer calls
- Willing and able to travel regularly, often worldwide to meet with clients and gain valuable industry contacts
Key competencies:
- At least 10 years of relevant analyst and/or industry experience
- Established relationships with key DRAM manufacturing companies.
- Exceptional writing skills
- Commercially focused
- Exceptional quantitative and qualitative analysis skills with the ability to synthesize and conclude, and create analytical frameworks from primary research
- Strong secondary research / information discovery and aggregation skills
- Excellent presentation skills and executive presence
- Technology market research / industry analysis experience is required
- Bachelor’s degree required
